Jaw coupling are a high speed low misalignment flexible coupling coupling. Capable of only 2° misalignment, the insert “spider” absorbs the misalignment and vibration. As the coupling moves closer to the 2° the spider insert starts to wear and eventually fails causing increased vibration leading to the coupling needing to be replaced due to wear
