SVL 211016-1XV Center Bearing is a center/support bearing assembly — the mounted bearing that carries a multi-piece driveshaft’s center section, not a U-joint cross itself. It’s a common replacement when a driveshaft develops a vibration or hum that isn’t traced to the U-joints.
A universal joint (U-joint) connects two rotating shafts that aren’t perfectly in line, allowing power to transfer around an angle. It consists of a cross-shaped center piece (the “spider” or “cross”) with four trunnions, each fitted into a bearing cap held by a yoke on either shaft end.
