Coupling technology to replace Universal Joints and PTO couplings

Agricultural U Joints like the Mining industry need to be tough, the water, dirt, mud and dust is tough on equipment, harsh working environments plus constant use means premature failure of parts in the drivetrain.

Water , dust, dirt and debris all are present in the farming environment and that takes a toll on equipment, Power take off units, water pumps, tractor powertrain components are all worked from sun up to sun down and so the wear parts in powertrains are the ones that go first

So lets compare what is available, and to date its been one product, the universal joint. The Universal joint or “U joint” has been around for over 115 years, the technology behind it is even older, dating back to Robert Hooke and his Hooke Joint in 1676. The universal joint has always had a T cross in its center which in modern terms means it has to be constantly lubricated or the T cross or propeller bearings (one at each cross point) will seize up and require replacement. Add to that any angles it is used at means the vibration increases at both speed and angle of use. The typical universal joint in a car requires balancing and its angle of usage is best under 8° the same applies with agricultural equipment.

Twin Spring’s Coupling is different in that it has no centre cross to allow it flex, that is handled by its dual spring design, add to that it has no internal bearings means it can run in hostile farm environments without constant maintenance. What this means to you is more flex no maintenance.

Not designed to work in harsh environments, the debris enters the couplings, seals of bearings leading to failure due to wear of the many internal components. This failure costs money, even with a maintenance program in place.

Lubricated and encased during the manufacturing process means those environmental contaminants cannot effect the Twin Spring Coupling.

No maintenance saves farmers time and that means money, as equipment needing to be repaired or maintained costs especially in planting and harvesting season

Attach Power Take Off’s (PTO) and work without the issue of being only able to use it within a few degrees or it failing.
