Couplings in the agricultural industry have a number of issues to contend with, annual maintenance, constant greasing, hostile environment, replacement components, downtime during critical times of the year (planting, harvesting) Twin Spring Coupling TSC300 Ag 1 1/2″ Keyway offers something different.
It replaces the entire Uni joint, yokes, propeller/cross bearings everything, with a simple one piece design. It can also replace jaw couplings also.

Designed with no internal components like bearings, means our coupling is truly maintenance free, making it impervious to water, mud, dust, dirt and other contaminants. This saves time and on annual maintenance bills.
The two different universal joints types wear in two ways, firstly the friction bearings are a cheaper slower coupling that wears with use and through not being constantly greased.
The other needle bearings are a more expensive and higher speed bearing system but they also need to be greased and replaced as they also wear with use.
Now the daily use of the product and secondly and more critically the angle at what the coupling joint is being used at, as the higher the angle of misalignment during use the more the bearings will wear.
This means increased vibration which can result in equipment damage and/or bearing failure.
Worn bearings are the main factor in universal joint replacement either the pre lubricated or the greased version.
The cheap cost of the bearing cross for most people think its a worthwhile coupling but the amount of labor involved in regards to monthly maintenance, greasing and eventual replacement means it makes it not as cheap as initially thought.
The other aspect of the bearing cross is the availability of them as well, if they aren’t in the farm supply store etc. then the machinery cannot be used until they are replaced.
TSC300 Agriculture – Where we are different to universal joints.
By being a one piece design also means Twin Spring Coupling wont break like the yokes do in traditional farming universal joints. The yokes while substantial where they connect to the input/output shafts are a lot smaller where they connect to the universal cross joint.
This makes it a weak point and with the tough work they experience farming are prone to cracking which means the yoke will have to be replaced meaning it has to be removed and wait for the new yoke to arrive and then reinstallation, which is both time and money.
Our coupling is available in all the standard industry splines and PTO splines for easy replacement or retrofit for OEM.
