Couplings in the industrial sector traditionally are broken into two sectors, jaw couplings that can only run at angles of 1° or less otherwise they wear out, as they cannot physically flex beyond that. The other are universal joints.
L-190 Jaw couplings are a 3 piece elastomeric coupling, an input and output hub and a spider insert, the insert Hytrel and Bronze means it can only flex to 1/2°.
Each insert gets progressively stiffer and less able to absorb vibration so the angular misalignment becomes smaller with each insert. This coupling is broken down across two Twin Spring Coupling models.
