TSC300 1 3/4″ jaw coupling replacement, replace your L-110 jaw coupling with a maintenance free, flexible shaft coupling alternative.
Couplings in the industrial sector traditionally are broken into two sectors, the beam/bellows or elastomeric couplings that can only run at angles of 1° or less, as they cannot physically flex beyond that, normally Hytrel and Bronze jaw couplings can only run at 1/2°.
L-110 Jaw couplings are a 3 piece elastomeric coupling, an input and output hub and a spider insert, the insert can be made up of 3 different materials SOX – (NBR/Buna-N/Nitrile Rubber), Urethane, Hytrel and Bronze.
Each insert gets progressively stiffer and less able to absorb vibration so the angular misalignment becomes smaller with each insert. The Hytrel and Bronze inserts allow only 1/2° flexibility.
The soft Buna-N and Urethane spider inserts compress with use so they need to be replaced as well.
The other power transmission couplings are universal joints which can normally only run at 8° otherwise prematurely wearing the bearings within the propeller shaft of the universal joint, the bearings will start to wear, bearings will become loose and that creates vibration.
The bearings need also to be constantly greased otherwise the ball bearings will not have any lubrication, and with them running at high speed the balls will seize in their tracks again leading to bearing failure.
Jaw couplings the spiders wear after use of 1-2° and yokes can crack.
Twin Spring Coupling TSC300 can run up to 45° without needing to be lubrication, and at low angles of misalignment can run at the same high speeds to traditional industrial jaw couplings.
The dual spring design means there is no need for a spider insert as used in a jaw coupling, the high torque torsion springs also means it can handle both high speed and high torque as needed in some applications.
The spider insert compresses over time with use and it also needs to be replaced as when the elastomeric insert compresses the vibration transferred increases potentially leading to equipment damage.
Lovejoy L-110 replace it with the TSC300.

By being a one piece design also means Twin Spring Coupling wont break like the yokes do in traditional Lovejoy L-110 joints.
